    Cartridge you love to hate!

The one gun I love to hate is the 6.5 creedmoore. It has been over hyped to the point that people have lost their minds over it. My favorite is my 260rem It's been doing what the creedmoore can do since it was picked up by rem in the 90's and before that by wildcatters. And brass can be made out...

    New custom 6.5 PRC

You might try adding a crimp to the loads you have already tried that will up velocity as well.

    New custom 6.5 PRC

BIG GAME might be a tad fast it works really well in my 260 and 7-08. Hunter is close to 4831 but it's almost like a ball powder so meters into cases better which might help in getting the most powder in there.

HHT load testing, pressure, difficulty removing bullets with collet

I use an RCBS collet puller I find that if I tighten the collet up just enough to slide over the bullet but stop when it hits the case neck helps me not tighten the puller on the neck.

    3 More Days Down Under

Just went to order some more and looks like the sale ended early?

    308 with 137 HH

Hammer bullets also like to be crimped with decent neck tension to start that's why most of us use the lee crimp die. We can adjust the level of crimp and tune our loads with it.

    Determining Trim Length

I have always just used the SAAMI trim to length however that was with cup and core bullets without crimp. Hammers are a different animal I would trim a case to the maximum case length and seat a bullet to the over all length you are wanting to load and see if the case mouth is in a valley if so...

    Reload Ammo Shelf Life

Anytime I buy new brass I automatically load it all with an inexpensive bullet and powder combo to fire form them all before I load any hunting ammo and the fire forming ammo is shot within a couple of days of loading. I don't like loading large batches of ammo I usually only load about 20 at a...

    118HHT 6.5PRC POWDERS

Ok guys this is what I have come up with for my loads to try in the PRC. RAMSHOT MAGNUM 62,63,64,65,66 H3831SC 55.5,56.5,57.5,58.5,59.5 SUPERFORMANCE 56,57,58,59,60 N165 56,57,58,59,60 N555 51,52,53,54,55 Do these charges seem ok to you guys with more experience than I do. I can tweak them...

    118HHT on ELK

Yeah I should be able to get the 118 going at least 3300FPS. I was able to get that with the 124HH. I also load for my 260rem so it's nice to have 1 bullet to use between them.

    Primer problems

I had a friend of mine that had the same problem years ago with Winchester brass he switched to Remington and never had another problem. His was a 308 as well if I remember correctly.

    270 WSM -vs- 6.5 PRC

One other thing I also reload for my 260REM so the PRC was logical for me as they can share bullets. Now if I had a 270 skinny ugly I would have leaned toward the 270 fat and pretty crowd lol. Just because you can't have too many guns right??

    270 WSM -vs- 6.5 PRC

Really the 270WSM and 6.5PRC are so close the differences are mute. I would go either way just this day and age the components are easier to find for the PRC. And the 6.5 diameter bullets have a slightly better sectional density. But I'm not sure it's enough to really make that much difference.

    270 WSM -vs- 6.5 PRC

It seems all of you guys are 270 WSM fans so I am going to stir the pot lol. I pick the 6.5PRC. 1) Ammo is readily available on the shelf if needed in a pinch. 2) rifles come standard with 1in 8 twist for heavy for caliber bullets. 3) pretty much every rifle manufacturer is making rifles in this...

    2023 Archery Season

Thats a long shot with a bow quite alot of variables could happen in the time it took that arrow to get there. I used to shoot bow alot when I lived back east, never shot at any animals over 30 yards but we would practice shooting balloons pinned to our target out to 100 yards.
