New member: 7mm-08 load suggestions with powder/primers I already have?

Welcome from North Central Wyoming! Your now associating with some “world class” guys, shooting “world class” bullets! I’m certain that you will receive some great information from these guys……sharing is what it’s all about! memtb

The Backfire Milk Jug Challenge. Quite the LRH Backfire!

Not much in these parts any longer. Jack Rabbits, which seemed to be around by the thousands when I first moved to Wyoming in ‘85……are now virtually non-existent! Prairie Dogs, are much the same except in a few locations…..most of the better locations appear to be on private property. I...

    500 Jeffery Scope Bite 🐍

Wow….your shooting something with a bit more punch than our stuff. Another thing that we do, not only larger screws, but blue Loctite on those screws……..and, the base(s) have Loctite applied also! Nutt’n a hammer and torch won’t remove! 😜 memtb

    500 Jeffery Scope Bite 🐍

I don’t know if this may interest you……and perhaps, it’s already been done. For the scope bases on our hunting rifles, we drilled and tapped the rifle receiver for larger screws. I’ve heard of screws shearing off under recoil from high recoil rifles, we thought that it was cheap, easy...

    500 Jeffery Scope Bite 🐍

For what it’s worth, again with the Burris, It works well for me at arms length when hand gunning. Also, again knowing nothing about the Midas, the Burris has an auto mode…..whereas the dot brightness varies according to ambient lighting. It also has an auto shut-down after several hours (can’t...

    500 Jeffery Scope Bite 🐍

Steve, I can’t speak about that red dot sight…..but “knock on wood”, I’ve had a Burris Fastfire 3, 3 moa on my S&W 460 XVR. It seems to have nice features. They now have a Fastfire 4….perhaps even better. It seems to be holding up pretty well with a few 400’s pushed pretty hard. I have no idea...

The Backfire Milk Jug Challenge. Quite the LRH Backfire!

I’ve never shot standing from sticks….but sitting behind my sticks is pretty much second nature! Though, I need to get more “stick time”! memtb

Did you have any trouble getting the golfers to get off of the Fairway? Asking for a friend! 😜 memtb

The Backfire Milk Jug Challenge. Quite the LRH Backfire!

I am in much agreement with this……assuming that the hunter is an ethical hunter! 🤔 But, that’s a topic that will cause a lot of heartburn among a lot of hunters/shooters! 😉 memtb

The Backfire Milk Jug Challenge. Quite the LRH Backfire!

I have to agree with BFD. There’s a lot of bragging going on over there, though I’m certain that some can back their claims……Lance immediately comes to mind! A couple of months back a LRH member devised a little shooting competition, starting at pretty close range and incrementally...

    500 Jeffery Scope Bite 🐍

I’ve done a bit of “weak side” shooting with various rifles, even killed a Whitetail from a seated position when the deer was impossible to shoot from strong side without a lot of movement! But, I’m too “CS” 💩 to try my present (since ‘91) hunting rifle @ 59 and some change ft/lbs recoil! I...

    The stooges down under

Maybe I can be the driver if I were to ever get “down under”! I’m almost as qualified as some of the drivers shown ! 🤪 I bought a Suzuki Jimny which was imported “stateside” and have been practicing! 😜 For those not familiar…..right hand steer! 😁 memtb

    Reloading...A dying art?

I don’t think that your eyes are “Lying”! On hunting/shooting forums we are only seeing a very thin slice of today’s youth! Most have never been camping, hunting, hiking, or have even fired a firearm …..must less have any knowledge that reloading even exists! The exception to firing a...

    Reloading...A dying art?

I started at 15, had no mentors……just a burning desire to reload. I was always a gun/shooting nut, and had seen an uncle reloading when I was a little kid. I was totally amazed that someone could reload cartridges, and could hardly wait to start on my own! memtb

    The stooges down under

I’ve experienced both…….the more you experience in life, the more memories good and bad, you can enjoy in your old age! I only wish that I’d made more as a younger man. memtb

    .22lr pistols

We have a few 22 handguns around the house…..all enjoyable to shoot! However, perhaps the most practical is my wife’s CC handgun…..a Sig 938. Yep, Sig’s semi-auto 9 mm! However, we have the slide conversion kit making it a 22 RF. She can do a lot of shooting very inexpensively with her CC...
