I was using the hammer bullets. Still some work to do as I had a red dot mounted on my M71 and started having issues with it. waiting on a replacement red dot.

i just started playing with this set up. I used Varget from 55- 61 grains and has a good node at 59.5-60.5. velocity was 2870-2838fps. COAL was 2.785. Also tried Rl-17 from 63-66.0 grains. velocity was 2827. I don't see a way to get to 3100fps as in the video.

If you haven't seen the 338 federal blog on the 24hr campfire site, check it out. years of data there including hammer loads. 8208 has been the go to powders for this caliber for the 185 class bullets and AA2230 for the lighter ones.

Would you mind sharing what rifle this was? Marlin lever action or maybe a Ruger #1?
