Another Backfire Challenge That will Certainly Raise Some Eyebrows

There's no way I would put $100 on my ability to put five shots inside a one inch circle on the very 1st try. I'd like to see Backfire do it. I have a CZ 453 Varmint I'd bet on at fifty yards. But only if the wind is calm😁

Another Backfire Challenge That will Certainly Raise Some Eyebrows

I'll tell anyone who listens to me, I can't shoot anything that kicks the snot out of me more than twice before I'm going to have problems. I can focus on one shot, but when you know the hammer is about to smack you on the cheek and shoulder. I'm out. Hardest kicking thing I have is a .405...

PSA from a new guy for those thinking of HBN coating AH bullets

Can you drill it out? Never used the stuff so I know nothing about it. Probably a stupid question!

Butter Bean, its like85 % of the people I load for. I show them the targets where I worked up a load to best ability of the rifle. Then hand it to them telling them to shoot it before you hunt. They and I get into a rifle different. I get behind the rifle, squared up. Then watch them shoot it...

This is my Prime suspect. Was warm yesterday. Cool back in Oct.

They were loaded last Oct. Hammer Hunter. Doubt its that. It was just a touch hard to chamber, New Sig brass. All I could find in 22-250. Didn't notice any other problems. So I'm not sure what is going on. But Acc 5420 isn't great on temp stability. First time I've used it. Have two pounds...

I tried to do that yesterday, had a one inch orange dot on a white background. I did it. On the second try! I could do it fairly well using my Rem 700 Tactical in .223. But using my Browning B78 in 25-06 was hard. Three in a tiny cluster, then two low, A 1\8 inch out of the dot. Better luck...

I had posted about my 22-250 using 52 HH @ 3997 FPS in another thread. I'd loaded it last winter. Shot some yesterday and one sounded funny and didn't hit where I aimed. Worked the bolt, no issues there, but a black hole in the middle of the primer wasn't good. I'm going to pull them and drop...

24 inch carbon wrapped. Varget is my go to powder on medium sized cases, .308\7-08, Creedmoor. It's hard to beat. Fast, temp stable. And usually available.

I was pushing the 131 HH to 3020 FPS. And I really wanted them to shoot well. But the best I could do was just short of 2 MOA @100. Just not what you want from a hammer. Tried three powders and different seating. Just believe I don't have enough twist. Ended up shooting all but five of the fifty...

They would not shoot well in my CA Ridgeline, 7-08 one in nine. 120 HH shoots lights out. Boom flop with deer. I prefer Varget. Others will work. A one in eight would be great.

Watched all those guys with expensive rigs yanking the trigger and releasing it like they are shooting a striker fired semi auto. None were taught about follow through.

I've found that somewhere in the 20 to 40 thousands jump on small bullets works well.

To Crimp or Not to Crimp Hammer Bullets

I've loaded hammers for about a dozen guys, I crimped every one of them, they shot the loads I worked up, nobody has complained. I make them shoot after I shoot, some of them are better shooters than I am. But I'll continue crimping, with a 65 to 90 thousands jump. It's worked well so far. Once...

    405 Winchester

Shooting a Winchester1885 High wall. 250 grain Shock Hammer. Very accurate, and very deadly. 57.5 grains of Norma 201. 2250 FPS. Could get more, but I like my shoulder just as it is.
