I should own a magnum. Or not?

The past year or so I've been thinking I should own a "magnum" rifle cartridge. I love playing around with new cartridges and have a decent collection. But nothing bigger than a 30-06. I keep looking into different magnum sized cartridges, specifically short actions. I never can seem to talk...

    .452 Shock Hammer Muzzleloader Performance

No kidding.... That would be very nice. I will definitely be looking into that!

    .452 Shock Hammer Muzzleloader Performance

Let us know how they work for you! 2400 would be great. I wish I could find the slug from mine, but it definitely opened up well judging by internal damage and the exit hole.

    .452 Shock Hammer Muzzleloader Performance

It is a cheap CVA wolf haha. I have it shooting about 1.5" groups at 100 yards with black harvester sabots. Not sure on twist, I can look it up.

.44 Mag Rifle - Deer Hunting

No kidding! I live very close to the river. It's a beautiful area, just wish we did not share the state with the city haha.

.44 Mag Rifle - Deer Hunting

That's alright, I will probably give it a try and see. We're in the middle of deer season right now, I loaded up two magazines worth of the enforcer loads after I got home to start hunting with. Not sure how much time I will have for a little bit, hopefully I get a nice window after deer season...

    .452 Shock Hammer Muzzleloader Performance

Hey folks, I made a post a while back on the old forum asking about the 221 gr. .452 shock hammer out of a muzzleloader. No one seemed to have tried it yet at the time, so I purchased some and gave it a go. Last season I never had a chance to shoot a deer during the one week muzzleloader season...

.44 Mag Rifle - Deer Hunting

I appreciate the hard cast knowledge! That 250 gr. sounds like fun. I have limited experience with hard cast or full lead bullets. The only non-jacketed lead bullets I run are for my 32 S&W long. I used to buy bullets and size them, but I found another bullet source that are sized perfect for...

.44 Mag Rifle - Deer Hunting

Thanks for the info! You are right about magazine length. I am limited to 1.610", which puts the 200 gr. Shock Hammers deeper than the last PDR band valley with the case mouth at full bullet diameter. I still gave them a crimp with my Lee FCD. I will have to hunt down some 2400, I have never...

.44 Mag Rifle - Deer Hunting

Well I finally got the rifle after being delayed multiple days by the new and exciting New York State background check system... I won't get into that right now though. I'm very happy with the rifle so far! I took it home, gave it a thorough cleaning, and installed an MCARBO trigger spring and...

.44 Mag Rifle - Deer Hunting

I agree on limited distance. I thought about the JackHammer, but the purpose of this rifle for me is not going to be longer range. I have plenty of other rifles for that. Planning to use it in the woods where most shots are 50 yards, 100 would be a rare occurrence. The barrel is 18.5" 1-20"...

.44 Mag Rifle - Deer Hunting

Thanks for the info! I'm already all set on the dies, I have a set for my Smith and Wesson revolver. Looking forward to playing around with loads and hunting with it. I think it will be a fun gun.

.44 Mag Rifle - Deer Hunting

Hey folks, I recently purchased a Ruger M77/44 rifle and 200 gr shock hammers for hunting eastern hardwoods in the rain. I wanted something stainless with nice open sights. Does anyone here have any experience or insight hunting and reloading with a 44 mag rifle or the .429 200 gr shock...

Old 30-30 sight adjustment for Hammer Bullets

Thanks! These look they would work underneath the factory hood, and not change the look of the rifle. How do I measure the height of the front sight I currently have? Is it simply top to bottom of the dovetail?

Can't find pressure with .358 Win

Well I tried the heavier crimp as you suggested with the Ramsht X-term. Haven't got my hands on a faster powder yet. Results were very interesting. My previous hunting load was the TAC at 2790 FPS. SD was poor, around 30, and group was about 1.5" at 100 yards. I liked the velocity so I went with...

    Gunbroker sales

I've never facetimed or requested and air tag from any seller on gunbroker. Just checked that they had been a member for a little while and made some sales. I've purchased quite a few firearms from such sellers on gunbroker and never had an issue. If on the off-chance you do, you can dispute it...
