I finally got around to doing some load development for my CVA Scout 45-70 Suppressed. I was shooting the 250 Gr. Shock Hammers. Using AA1680 I was able to a chive a 3 shot group of .935”. Velocity average was 2,964 fps. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the group as I was shooting multiple guns that day. I did however take a picture of a pine tree I shot with this gun and my 7mm-08 118 gr. HHT’s and 6.5 CM 125 gr. HHT. This was the result.

The 6.5 and 7mm-08

No exit for either.

That's some impressive speed for the 250 SH.
My 2604 fps was the fastest I'd known of from a 45-70 with that bullet. You just walked right past that. That AA1680 powder can really push that bullet. It's what I run also.
I'd love to see what that can do on a critter.
How's that brass life?

I was able to cheat my OAL out just a little and still get the loaded round to eject from my lever action. It gave me more powder capacity. Would you have room to be able to do that? Maybe hit that 3k fps range.

I’m a touch above factory OAL and as long as I can go. How much is too much powder? It’s not like it’s at the top.
