Nope not all anyhow. My son shoots a 270, and his coffee is blk. Stronger it is the better. Those that do probably put cream and sugar in their coffee.

This trip to Aussie is going to be dedicated to testing solids. We want to take a footprint in that market. We will be doing the volume shooting with Hammer HHT 's. Also two of the DG test rifles will be set up with heavier HHT's for some long range work on deer and whatever else gives the opportunity. We are wanting to get some 600y plus work on water buffalo.
I think I would run the 132 HHT. Larger wounding from less velocity.Any of you testers ran the .284 132gr HHT? I was going to try the 130 AH in my 280 AI but if the velocity’s are good on The new stuff. Sounds like with fewer PDR ridges should pick up a little over the standard HH. And yes I like light and fast
GdaySomething about leaving the tip off an HHT and having essentially an HHT Shock Hammer...
I am like you. I think an HHT would better suit the short mag and magnum cartridges to ring out BC...
Rolling around my mind is Fordy saying he couldn't get HHT to fail and "The 308 guys gonna be really happy with 154 HHT"...
First world problems...
I will come back to this in more detail as I thought this would play out & I’ve got no time until I get in transitAppreciate you saying this GL. My HH pills of choice have been the .308/166 in 300WM and .284/143 in 7Mag. I ran the .308/163 HHT and .284/145 HHT through my velocity brackets assuming same MV as HH and estimated BCs from website and only gain 20-50 fps at my ranges. Current thinking is no need to obsolesce my current inventory of HHs but will switch once depleted.
For a simple minded 0-400 guy does this sound right or is terminal performance gain really that compelling vs HH?
Some experiences are meant to be at close range for full flavor.Don’t keep harping on about my failure to fail it’s a sore point still ticking though & testing we are going to do when Steve gets here that will show 2 things how good of a shot steve is & how much nerve he has more on the later to come I guarantee, for now just drop the zeros off Steve’s numbers but shhh
{Taking GL off the hater list}Don't take what I said as being negative about the HHTs. They are a wonderful and MUCH improved pill to be sure. Their performance, wound cavity quality at lower velocities are all wonderful!
If I owned a 308/7mm08,or similar sized cartridge - I'd shoot nothing but HHTs. I do have a 338 Sherman, and will probably try them in it when they come out.
Kneedeep....this one's for you.
My pet loads generally hit with a bucketful of "band-aids" traveling around 3700+@ impact. At my impact velocities I don't need much wounding improvement.
For those with impacts around 2000-2500+ish, the HHTs will give huge wounding improvements. Look at Farleg's tables. It's plain as day.
One of Farleg's complaints is that they messed up his traditional velocity brackets.
My bet is we/he'll put out new velocity brackets (or just one huge one) for the new bullets. Their good velocity/performance window is Enormous. What an improvement!
Joe has 100 154s & 100 163s on the way.@Muddy,
Knew I could count on you
(Unlike joe16......
I just ordered some 95g HHT's for my 24" barreled 25-06, I'll let you know after I work up the load. I'm getting almost the exact same velocity with 90g AH as you are, what powder are you using? I tried 3 different powders and settled on RL26.I’ve been shooting the 90gr Absolute in my 25-06 at 3660fps.
Does anybody have a guesstimate of what the 95gr HHT would get velocity wise? Within 100fps maybe?
I’m in the same velocity range with both IMR7828sc and Magpro.I just ordered some 95g HHT's for my 24" barreled 25-06, I'll let you know after I work up the load. Here you go @Farleg .....first time attaching a file on new site hope it works.Gday bojo
I will come back to this in more detail as I thought this would play out & I’ve got no time until I get in transit
but for now could you post those old velocity brackets up on those combos of yours & I’ll try & get to it as it’s a priority imo for people like you , gl is a classic & some of my combos I’ve got no need for the hht as here you go I’ll say it once only
The combo I currently use is perfect (243 aka TANK ) in its application but if I was to step outside of its application I’d be using the 72hht I think
The old velocity brackets are extremely useful tool but they do not switch over to the hht as they have proven to show their own & somewhere I read Steve mentioned 2500 to 2000 & if he wouldn’t mind explaining that in more detail that would be good as that will also help with data
The 2000/2100 to around 2700 is one bracket that I’m tentatively putting up & I’d love to pick Pickens brain on what his thoughts are in this impact range to work these out with more certainty
As the more data in the better data out & that’s good for us all
Got to run fellas
No proof read
Cheers
Qualification understood GL.....never took your post as negative towards the new pill at all and hope I didn't come across as implying you did. I share everyone's excitement over the new offering and will certainly switch once HH inventory is depleted, just weighing if the uptick in performance for my combos justifies the immediate switch. Your comment above spot on.....I'll be switching over my 7x57/120HH combo, but in the magnums where I'm 2700ish+ at all MY ranges, not feeling compelled to swap immediately, but open to persuasion..... look forward to Farleg comments on velo brackets.Don't take what I said as being negative about the HHTs. They are a wonderful and MUCH improved pill to be sure. Their performance, wound cavity quality at lower velocities are all wonderful!
