Announcing the New Hammer HHT

I am getting ready to work on 243 Winchester and 240 Weatherby mag stuff. Both will be primarily for my kids. Both kids shoot reliably out to 500 meters off bags/bench. For our hunting purposes 300ish yards is about as far as they will shoot. For the 243s we already have 4 loads that shoot well enough to hunt with in 4 different guns using lead bullets. I was planning on working up some 70 grain hammer hunter loads this summer for comparison with hopes of switching their hunting loads to hammers.

The 240 Weatherby is new, never fired a round. Starting from scratch, hammers are an obvious first choice for this rifle.

Now my only question is tipped or not.
I can say that other than dangerous game, I am running Hammer HHT. We should have what you are wanting out in a week or so.

Nobody shoots 27 cal!😂
I used to shoot a 270 Weatherby Mag! After harvesting several animals with it, I realized I am much like Joe16. I like bigger diameter bullets. 30 cal. is as small as I will go for deer and above. Oh, and I have shot a mule deer with a 222 Mag. Never again! It was DRT, but I ruined one front quarter. Oh, and I'm loving all the hype and excitement over the new design, but let's just remember there is nothing wrong with the older designs!

Just me, but I for one will probably continue using Hunters or Absolutes. The new ones don't add any significant benefits at my velocities. If i shot a medium sized/velocity cartridge - I'd be all over the HHT!
Something about leaving the tip off an HHT and having essentially an HHT Shock Hammer...
I am like you. I think an HHT would better suit the short mag and magnum cartridges to ring out BC...
Rolling around my mind is Fordy saying he couldn't get HHT to fail and "The 308 guys gonna be really happy with 154 HHT"...
First world problems...:ROFLMAO:

Those that do probably put cream and sugar in their coffee. 😂
Watch the coffee jokes there Julio😱🤣🤣🤣

I found most of them say it's their wife's rifle, yeah right.

As I've stated "they're skinny and ugly". I can do ugly🥰😍 It's the skinny part that I can't handle🤷

Still running solids for DG?
This trip to Aussie is going to be dedicated to testing solids. We want to take a footprint in that market. We will be doing the volume shooting with Hammer HHT 's. Also two of the DG test rifles will be set up with heavier HHT's for some long range work on deer and whatever else gives the opportunity. We are wanting to get some 600y plus work on water buffalo.

If I ever get to hunt a buff, I’d like it to be at 600 yards!😂

Sweet! Do try to report back your findings... :ROFLMAO:

Appreciate you saying this GL. My HH pills of choice have been the .308/166 in 300WM and .284/143 in 7Mag. I ran the .308/163 HHT and .284/145 HHT through my velocity brackets assuming same MV as HH and estimated BCs from website and only gain 20-50 fps at my ranges. Current thinking is no need to obsolesce my current inventory of HHs but will switch once depleted.

For a simple minded 0-400 guy does this sound right or is terminal performance gain really that compelling vs HH?

I agree with your thinking. Obviously we would like to sell you more bullets. 😃. The new design is a step up in terminal performance, bullet durability, and bc. For your hunting style the bc simply does not matter. The other improvements are better than what we considered the best. That certainly does not mean what you are using is not as good as it was when you started using it. We won't discontinue bullets that work exceptionally well.
