.375 165 Gr shock Hammer in .375 Winchester.

I am having a Hi-wall winder musket re-bored from 32/20 to .375 Winchester. I want to use the 165 GR Shock Hammer. I am on site: https://www.xxl-reloading.com/ shows nice loads for 175 gr Proj. using 5744. BUT there is a load for 170 Gr Proj (trying to get closer to bullet weight) same powder, SLOWER velocities. The BBL Length on rifle is 27". confused, can anyone provide any suggestions?

It doesn't look like anyone has supplied any information on that combination.
If and when you do, please post up your results in "share your hammer data" thread so it can help those that are looking like you.

The COAL and CBTO measurements are unique to loads in rifle data posted which can affect pressure. Use standard safe reloading practices to work up a safe load in your rifle.

I think your high wall, the 375 Winchester and the 165 will make a mean combination 5744 should give you good velocities with good load density.

I am planning Just that. 29GR start, should be able to work up to 33.5 GR and should give me 2,700FPS+ range Vel's
