Wow. Do you think there's a way to make them longer, skinnier, or uglier? Asking for a friend
My guess is 3369 fps. Those are gonna be a hammer on game!

I had similar thoughts on Roy Weatherby and hammers!
Oh heck! Even 5 years ago!!! The .270AI has been around some but just going to fast twist, freebore and a very long action like Rem 700's takes the "Governor" off the .270 Win. Folks don't realize it's a 65K cartridge so it's got plenty of horsepower just sitting there. Just need to let it "breathe"!
Really normal hunting ranges out to 4-500 max. Seemed like he was usually 2-300 yds.

That’s really interesting considering the poor BC of bullets in his day, and the poor optical quality and just holding high. I understand that BC doesn’t do a lot inside of 400-500 yards, but still. If he were hunting today with what we have, I think he’d shoot considerably farther

I've read almost everything Jack wrote and as Muddy suggested, he tried to get within 300 or closer before popping a cap. That said I have read of him shooting over 500 in the right situations. That was a poke with the equipment of the day...the limiting factor being they had no range finders back then.
My personal experience was bullets not holding together on larger game, much less wishing for more velocity.
