Tagging in. Same bullet I shoot out of my 280AI. My load is at 3300 FPS out of a 23” IBI with a 1-7.5” twist using H100V.

I’m guessing with a 22” barrel, he will make 3300-3350 maybe a bit more with RL26

I never tried R26. Thought it would be to slow with the AH. Be interesting to see if it would work. Sure does well with other bullets. I’m rationing my last 8 lbs of R26.

The .280a.i. is a great looking cartridge. Just something about the shape of it that I like.
Mine also runs an IBI barrel
It's a cartridge that I would like to have chambered in a nice timber stocked classic looking rifle.

I had a sticky extraction just up the ladder so I backed off.
I dont mean to drift this thread was just sharing I am working with the same load.
I did share my load in the load data post. And I have my own thread to discuss it in detail. Id like to learn more about improving it since i felt I should have easily hit over 3200fps. I question if my pressure sign is false.
Anyways, i dont want to drift this thread.

280AI 140gAH drops

Help me interpret anything from my results. I worked up a handload for my 280AI with 140g Absolutes, getting 3116fps, 26in bbl, 7twist. Scope is a Leupold VX6, 1/4moa dials, 1.625" above bore. Hammer advertises the bullets BC at G7/225. I ran that thru a ballistic calculator to estimate...
