I just got here a day or two ago and have spent hours reading through threads and data provided by members here. Really interesting stuff! My current hunting load in my 338-06AI is a 185gr Hornady CX at just under 3100FPS. I believe I can can come up with a better (more effective) load with the Hammer bullets. I am ordering 175gr and 213gr .338 HH bullets to work with. On the .358 (35 Whelen) side I'm not convinced after searching the forum and looking at the reloading data on the Hammer site. My current load is a 250gr Norma Oryx at 2630fps. A lot of the talk with the Hammer bullets has to do with speed and terminal performance of the bullets not just fps, energy and penetration. But with heavier, slower bullets.......? I don't want to recreate what I am doing with the 338-06 with my .35 whelen loads so I am not going to lighter bullets in the Whelen. Any one getting over 2600fps in .35 Whelen with hammer bullets in the 250gr range.

I would be willing to bet the 254 HH will easily match what you're getting with the Oryx bullets. The 245 Shock hammer might be a better choice for moderate range.

I will be watching this as a 35 Whelen is on my list.

Done ordering bullets for now!

Decided on the 135gr PH for my .308.

.338 213gr HH for my 338-06AI, I'll also try those with my 338WM

.338 186gr SH for the .338-06AI.

.358 .245gr SH for my .35 Whelen.

I ordered enough Hammer bullets to make 1,621 pennies, real pennies not the new copper plated tin ones!

Anxious for your 338-06 AI results. Ordered a barrel for one two weeks ago.
338-06AI
186gr Shock Hammer
Norma 338-06 Brass
60.1gr A2520
WLRM Primers.
COL 3.173
light crimp
3031 FPS average
.9 inch 100 yd groups (average of 3 four round groups)
Silencer
Winchester M70 with Proof Research stainless barrel 22in with 9.4/1 twist rate.

Almost gave up on this load, very inconsistent. Switched from standard to mag primers and that fixed everything.

My brass looks good, no pressure signs.

213gr Hammer Hunter is next
