300 WSM, 168 HHT, Tikka Powder

I'm new the Hammer bullets and I'm looking for some advice. I ordered a sample pack of fifteen 168 HHT bullets. I've read that Hammer bullets can be a little different to load compared to other bullets. In the past I've had good luck with RL26 in the 300 WSM. Is RL26 to slow for 168gr Hammer bullets? Other powders on hand include. H4350, H414, Superformance, and staball6.5. Any suggestions on what powder to start with?
 
Welcome home! Lots of new members with 300WSMs it appears! The Hammer Hunter line can be pushed with faster than usual burn rate powders, but the HHT line up with my Hornady manual for charges of same bullet weight, if not referencing the next heavier bullet weight in the book. Can't get hurt abiding by this.
 
If you get minute, take a look at the 154HHT in the 300WSM. I think you will like what you see. @Farleg is Mr. 154HHT!

Welcome @Obie458! Btw, @joe16 forgot to give you his disclaimer. The only shoes he wears are pink flip flops, so you might take his advice with a grain of a salt. Hopefully one day we can at least get him to move into crocs. 😂 glad you’re here!
 
I got a chance to hit the range yesterday. I worked up to 65.0 gr of H4350 with the 168 HHT. 65.0gr averaged 2917fps and shot a .3" three shot group. Accuracy was very good across all loads. My Tikka T3X is consistently slower than data would suggest with H4350 powder. The same powder lot runs consistent with data in my 7mm-08 🤷‍. I only ordered a sample pack of 15 so I didn't have enough to tinker any more.
I also tested the 190gr Speer Impact with RL 26. I worked up to 68.5 gr. The best group was at 68.0gr @ .67" and an average of 3003fps. I'll have to tinker further with both bullets to see if results are consistent but both are showing promise. Both loads were with new ADG brass and COAL of 2.86".
