Bradford pear trees absolutely reeks beyond belief! Road kill in LA in July for week smells better! Beautiful trees but DANG!!!

They're also very brittle and shed limbs like crazy if you have wind or storms (or ice).

I shudder every time we get heavy wet snow but so far they have survived! But MANNNN do they stink! Its retching smell that when mowing can't get away from!

Sweetgums are my nemesis. I consider them the arboreal embodiment of Satan. Wish I could figure out how to post a video of some smaller ones getting yanked out of the ground with the tractor.
Boss lady agrees with y’all re Bradfords, though.

I don't own any but if it helps they are only supposed to smell "like baby poop" during spring bloom.

As an added bonus, they also attract every wasp, hornet and bee within smelling distance when they bloom (at least down here they do).
