358 win

I received my Barrel from McGowan the other day and turned my model 7 22 Creedmoor into a model 7 358 Winchester. Put a little pop into it. Gonna attempt to get 3K or as close as I can with the 140s.

One of the most under-rated cartridges. Looking forward to your load development. It really looks nice. Love the brake.

He needs enlightened I don't have time to watch it I'm at work but if he'd put that 140 hammer and crank little piggy up and see what it really does.

Thanks for the video I'll watch it when I get home.

The weather was nice yesterday morning so I played hooky from work for a few hours and woke the neighborhood up with my little 358💥💥

McGowan 20 in with thier turbo brake
AA 1680 47.5 grains
WLR
Jamison brass (new)
140 SH
vel 3098👍
Groups SUCK. 1.5 to 2 in. 2, 2 shot groups
1/2 fcd

The velocity was where I wanted it so I backed it down actually a half a grain to 47.5 of AA 1680 and loaded eight bullets to check for grouping. I wasn't expecting a flamethrower with such a fast powder but it is what it is. This might actually be a tough combination to figure out. I did not expect the AA1680 to produce a muzzle flash, not with a 20-in barrel. I used a 1/2 FCD, going to increase this to see if it will tame some of the muzzle flash and aid in accuracy🙏. It was a little hairy trying AA1680 in this cartridge. Not sure if there's another powder out there that I would trust using in a bottleneck case faster than that.

I'm also going to try four of them with a heavier crimp and fed GM 210 primers. Pressure shouldn't be a problem at 47.5 grains. I've seen no indications of pressure, actually they still rechamber👍. Which I can't say is the case for a few of my loads😳

This place is awesome**

I'm not saying Norma's not sweet and she's a great cook from Southeastern Ohio. Just not for me, really not for me. Shaped and walks like a penguin🥴

Joe. You might want to try RL 7 or Benchmark. I had a model 71 Deluxe from 1988 to 2002. I had my fun and ended up doubling my money. One of those true win-wins.

Les

I thought I had more of both than I actually do. I've been looking for Rx7 to pop up locally for a few years.

I guess since the animals don't shoot back I could live with a little muzzle flash. Nah, got to make that go away. I'm hoping a primer change and a crimp increase will smooth this sucker out.

You do have a point about Rx7. I don't think I've ever shot it in anything where it wasn't accurate. Which is mainly 45-70s and 223s.

I do love the puzzle!!
