I'll see what happens this weekend. I have new ADG brass to try.Are you running Hornady brass as well? Looks to me like the Peterson brass is holding up to an extra 100 fps.

Enjoy your sandwich.Good luck. I don't think N560 will be lame at all. I'm going to be loading 4831sc in a few minutes, after I eat my ham sammich.
Yes, 2x fired, and the factory load and second load were evidently hot. I just should have tossed it. I'll be ordering some Peterson Brass. I really liked them in my 340 Weatherby. I was flinging 250gr at 3000fps with no problem. Are you running Hornady brass as well? Looks to me like the Peterson brass is holding up to an extra 100 fps.

OK now. This afternoon's ladder test featured Hogdon 4831sc. Temperature was 50 degrees, with a 10mph wind from 3 o'clock with gusts to 20. I used 2x-fired Hornady brass again, and seated the projectiles 73 thou off the lands for a COAL of 3.2790".
63gr - 2923 fps
63.5 - 2905
64 - 2906
64.5 - 2923
65 - 2958
65.5 - 2970
66 - 3009
Then the wind blew over the chrony on the tripod and the screen sidearm broke. Arrrgghhhh!
No indications of overpressure. Typically, I would use 1.5gr less of 4831sc than 7828ssc with the same projectile.
GRT puts me right at max pressure with 66 grains of 4831sc after entering the measurement data. That gives me a 96.9% load ratio and a 97.6% burn, which is more load and less burn than 66.5gr 7828ssc. Sum Ting Wong. Gonna need more boolits!
I made two loaves of fresh garlic and rosemary ciabatta bread yesterday.Enjoy your sandwich.
Me too. I have the infrared set for the CED M2 chrony, but I don't want to chance breaking that. I'll wait until it calms down. That sucks about what happened to your chrono. Looks like good grouping. Im curious how far it would have gone until you saw pressure signs.
Oh man, that sounds terriffic.I made two loaves of fresh garlic and rosemary ciabatta bread yesterday.
I want to see how the heavy for caliber perform. I bought a 7 PRC with a 1:8 twist so I could run heavier bullets. I would like to get around 3100-3200 fps. If not I will drop down to the 153 or maybe even 145. My 7 RM was devastating with the 145 LRX at 3050 FPS. Everything was always DRT.My question is why wouldn’t you go with a lighter bullet weight than a heavy for caliber weight. The idea behind hammers is high velocity, large bubble and deep penetration. I would rather see bullet weight that allows 3300-3500 fps, for shock & awe, bang flop! Just my observation.
My birthday is coming up.....Time for a Garmin!!!
I dropped my bull elk at 720yds AMR last November with the 7PRC with pushing a 175gr @2910fps muzzle velocity. Impact velocity was still above 2000fps. DRT. Getting another 150-200fps with a Hammer 162 would be satisfying for me.I want to see how the heavy for caliber perform. I bought a 7 PRC with a 1:8 twist so I could run heavier bullets.
