Pics that make you look like a pro photographer

Few pics of a buck, that I think are pretty amazing shots. Old school hunting! First rifle I bought in 1968 Savage 110C, .270 rebarreled 6 yrs ago with 24" Shaw SS barrel. Shoots incredible with 117HH @3470! Bausch & Lomb 2.5x10x40 I bought new years ago! December 2023 northern Michigan late doe season on private land.

Cool story about this rifle. The first weekend I took it hunting in Adirondacks, I stepped in a hole covered over with leaves, 3-4' deep! Rifle slung over shoulder, got pinned between me and stone. Cracked stock at tang. Heart broken! It was a lot of money in 1968! Brought it back to gun shop. He said Savage rep coming in next week. About 3 weeks later got call rifle was back and repaired. How much? Shop said we can talk. So seems he told Rep what happened and Savage restocked FREE! Their letter stated glad I wasn't hurt in fall and safe hunting! Only regret is lost letter years ago. So yes I have a soft spot for Savage Arms!

Update: this rebarrel was refused by every gunsmith around me and told me no big deal, do it yourself! Barrel came with gauges and wrench so kind of ticked off at the gunsmiths, I decide to try it. Used padded vise and barrel spun off easy peasy! Followed the directions, headspaced perfectly.

So easy even a Sasquatch can do it!

And down the Rabbit Hole I went, 2 builds later.

Android. A52. Niece has painted the turkeys, I'm waiting to see it. A late Christmas gift. It snows every now and then in Alabama. Mountain snow pic was taken from the eastern by pass around Anniston ala, looking back at the Mt. Long leaf pine wildlife Refuge.
